What is laser therapy?
Laser therapy delivers specific wavelengths and frequencies of laser light to increase circulation by drawing nutrients to the affected area. This in turn decreases swelling, inflammation and muscle spasms and therefore reduces stiffness and pain.

We have the K-Laser Cube 4
This is the first laser machine to combine 4 wavelengths into one laser. It maximises absorption by the 4 primary light absorbing complexes to stimulate rapid tissue repair. Cube 4 incorporates up to 20 Watts of power and 4 wavelengths which can be emitted simultaneously or alone, this means our nurses can achieve maximum stimulation, eliciting a more rapid healing and repair response than the competition.
How is laser delivered to my pet?
No patient sedation or restraint is required, the treatment is pain free and non-invasive for your pet and is usually a pleasant experience. The pet will often appear relaxed during their session and lay on the bed whilst laser is being performed. Very few side effects have been reported, there is little or no sensation during treatment although some pets may feel mild warmth or tingling.
How many sessions are required & how long do they last?
We offer a treatment schedule for your pet specific to their condition, some chronic conditions may require ongoing treatments to control pain. Laser therapy is cumulative in effect and so whilst improvements may be seen after only 1 session, most patients require several sessions for greatest benefit.
Each session will, typically, last between 2 and 12 minutes depending on the areas that require treatment. These sessions are nurse led and held within our nurse clinic slots.
My pet is on medication, is laser still suitable?
Laser Therapy can be used in conjunction with medications and other therapies and may help to minimise the requirement for long-term pain relief medications – this can be very useful if your pet is experiencing undesirable side-effects from common medications such as gastro-intestinal upset.
Insurance & prices.
Laser therapy is usually claimable under your pet insurance policy, although you will need to check your policy T&C’s to confirm this.
We initially recommend 6 laser sessions are performed over a 3 week period and then monthly. Discounts are applied when purchasing sessions in bulk/multiple areas .
