Katie Danby is our resident physiotherapist.  She is a Chartered Physiotherapist and has a professional but relaxed approach to rehabilitation.  Katie  prides herself on staying up to date with the most current research in order to provide the best possible care for your pet.

Animal physiotherapy also known as veterinary physiotherapy aims to promote, maintain and restore mobility, function, independence and performance.  Evidence now supports the use of physiotherapy alongside medical and surgical treatment of a broad spectrum of orthopaedic, neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular conditions.  Physiotherapy aims to maximise and restore your animals wellbeing following an injury or incident. It can also help to maintain fitness in the older animal or one with a degenerative condition.
A physiotherapy appointment may consist of a full check of your animals muscle and joint condition.  Appropriate treatment can then be provided as well as a prescribed exercise program which together aims to achieve your treatment goals.

Why choose ACPAT?

The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) is a Professional Network Group of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.  ACPAT are a dynamic and progressive organisation focused on promoting excellence within the field of veterinary physiotherapy through continued education, research and evaluation.

The ‘Chartered Physiotherapist’ title is protected by law and can therefore only be used by physiotherapists who have combined a high level of academic and practical training across all aspects of physiotherapy. All members of ACPAT are Chartered Physiotherapists and full practicing members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy that have completed additional training in physiotherapy and rehabilitation for animals with specialist knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathology and biomechanics.

Clients of other practices could be seen on an outpatient basis following a referral from their practice.  Enquiries can be made using our contact page or email: taketheleadphysiotherapy@gmail.com
