We are available 8.30am-7.30pm Monday-Friday on 01732 740999 from Wednesday 22nd April 2020. 

The practice is now able to offer most normal services, including a prescription collection service and our on-site emergency service 24 hours a day, based at our Meopham Veterinary Hospital for registered clients.

Once an appointment is made, the service will be charged for and must be paid for at the time of booking, avoiding unnecessary social contact.  Any relevant history will be taken on the telephone at the time.  Paper receipts will not be issued at the time. Receipts can be emailed if required and vaccination cards can be provided or completed after lock-down.   

When your appointment is booked you will be given details of how the appointment will be managed, keeping you and our team safe and allowing for social distancing and appropriate biosecurity.  You will not be allowed to be present with your pet, but will be requested to return to your car until the appointment is over.

Vaccinations 

The BVA has advised that annual vaccinations may be extended up to 15months during the present pandemic.  Please bear this in mind when considering booking.

Hydrotherapy 

We are now able to offer hydrotherapy sessions. 

Summary

These services are open to registered clients of The Meopham Veterinary Hospital, Sevenoaks Veterinary Surgery or Swanscombe Veterinary Surgery.  You can register at the time of booking.

To help protect both you and our staff we have placed the following protocols in place:

  • If you need to visit the practice for a pet emergency or to collect medication we kindly request that you please telephone and inform a member of reception of your arrival along with your car make/colour and then wait in or by your car.
  • We will not allow any member of the public into the practice.
  • All emergency patients visiting the practice will be taken from their owner and examined inside by the veterinary team.
  • We trust you will not attend our surgeries should you be concerned that you are at risk of Coronavirus or are displaying symptoms, such as a dry cough or fever.
  • We have cancelled all visits to inpatients.
  • Routine home visits cannot currently be carried out.  Please telephone for advice should you require clarification.
  • We will allow repeat prescriptions if your pet has been seen within 12 months rather than the usual 6 month interval.  This is at the discretion of the case vet and in some circumstances it may still be in the welfare of your pet to be seen earlier.
  • We may be able to dispense longer prescriptions than usual to save repeated trips.
  • If you are self-isolating or would rather not visit us at this time then we can post your pet’s prescriptions to you (P&P charges will apply)
  • When ordering repeat prescriptions, we request that you pay over the telephone at the time of ordering to prevent unnecessary social contact.
  • We are happy to bring your pet’s medication out to the car park if you call the practice upon your arrival.
  • We have set up remote consultations.  Please telephone the reception team to discuss and book if appropriate.  The consultation fee will be payable at the time of booking, charged at a reduced rate to our usual consult fee.  You will be given an approximate appointment time at which the Veterinary Surgeon will telephone.  If appropriate and you are able to, please take some suitable photographs or video of your pet and send it to our WhatsApp phone number {number will be given out by the reception team} or to enquiries@meophamvets.co.uk prior to your appointment.
  • We have cancelled all work experience students, client information evenings and non-essential meetings and gatherings within the practices until further notice.  We have restricted all non-essential engineer visits.
