Martin Hobbs is the Practice Principal and owner of The Meopham Hospital and The Swanscombe and Sevenoaks Veterinary Surgeries. Martin gained a first class degree in Animal Physiology and Nutrition from the University of Leeds. He graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 1992, with distinctions in anatomy and surgery. In 1996 he opened the Meopham Veterinary Surgery and subsequently The Swanscombe Veterinary Surgery in 2000 and The Sevenoaks Veterinary Surgery in May 2010. Following postgraduate study and examination Martin has been awarded the RCVS Certificates in Small Animal Surgery in 2002 and Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2004. He has also recently gained a Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology. His main areas of interest are surgery (small animal and equine) and diagnostic imaging. Martin is a Local Veterinary Inspector.
Penny graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2011 with a BSc(Hons) in Veterinary Science and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine. During university she completed an externship at Bell Equine and undertook electives in equine surgery, equine reproduction and veterinary business.
She has a special interest in small animal surgery and has recently passed a BSAVA post graduate certificate in both Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic surgery. Penny has always been a keen horsewoman, growing up in Australia she competed in showing, eventing, dressage and show jumping.
She now competes a lovely Thoroughbred in both dressage and eventing. In her spare time she also does triathlons and finished her first half Ironman this year.
Tim qualified from The Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh in 2013 having previously gained a BSc(Hons) in Animal Science from The University of Nottingham in 2008.
Tim has a keen interest in large animal practice and small animal surgery.
Outside of work he enjoys playing tennis, rugby and swimming.
Pippa graduated with distinction from the University of Liverpool in 2015. She is originally from Hampshire so is delighted to be back down south. She has a special interest in small animal surgery, especially orthopaedics, having completed an elective in the subject during university. Pippa is currently studying towards a post graduate certificate in small animal Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic surgery.
She is also a keen horse rider having competing horses from the age of 9. Outside of work Pippa enjoys exploring the area with her Whippet called Oscar, going to the gym and travelling.
